General Information
Situated in Phattalung and Trang Provinces, the park is named by local "Bha Brommajan" (Virgin Forest). There are camp on trees along the river, at the low land. The park is platoue and surrounded by steep mountain. The park's attraction are; Tham Ruen Thepnimit, Tham Wang Nai Phud and Tham Kon Than Long Sra Caves; Khao Kram and Rian Thong Waterfalls and Sra (pool) Nong Manora.
Geologically it is a plateau located on the center of the valley, so its surrounded by mountain ranges consisting of Ban-tad mountain, Nakornsri-Thammarad mountain, Khao Pu-Khao Ya mountain, Pa Rae mountain, Wat Tham mountain, Phra-ya Krung Jeen mountain and Pa Hong mountain. Its covered with rich Evergreen forest and originates many virgin streams such as Klong Khao-Tra Krai, Huay Lum leang, Huay Lum Sin, Huay Mud,
etc.
Climate
The climate can be provided into 2 seasons, rainy and summer. Generally the whether is cool (average temperature is 22 Degree Celsius) because the park is abundant of rain and covered by Moist evergreen forest. June-August is the most attractive season for tourism since that is the fruit season which you can enjoy plenty of famous southern fruits; mangoes teen, rambutan, durian, langsat (ipani), parkia,
etc.
Flora and Fauna
Mostly Moist Evergreen forest, its fauna consists of economical valued trees which are Hopea odorata Roxb, Malacca teak, Dipterocarpus alatus, etc. Ground fauna consists of herb plants, rattans and wild orchids, etc.
Park forest area connects to the Bun-Tad Mountain Range Wildlife Sanctuary, so many wild animals from time to time migrate between these two forests. General found animals are consisting of serow, bear, Malayan tapir, civet, Barking deer, Chinese pangolin, Flying squirrel, monkey, hornbill, Great
hornbill, hillmyna, dove, etc.
Ruan Thepnimit Cave
the cave is symbol Khao Poo. There are 2 chamber, second chamber is habitat of " Shang Kaew" it is the pure-rock resemble an
elephant.
Tham Wang Nai Pud
it is an exotic big cave about 100m in width and 100m in length. At the entrance, there is an exciting rock formatiom and this cave is comprised of many
chambers.
Nam Tok Riang Tong
the site is in Moo1, Tambol Khao Poo, Pattalung.There are many different levels, so it is called "Namtok Roi Shant" (100 levels watersall). At 13th the spectacular viewpoint seeing to Noi-sea and Khao
Poo-Khao Ya.
Mach Cha Plawon Cave
the cave is situated 2.5m from the Park, there are stalactites and stalagmites and the 100m width pool is where the habitat of many fishes. Otherwise, it is the habitat of different species of bat
Pha Pueng
in february to April, this site is a good viewpoint seeing some "Pueng Lusng" created their houses. The site situated 300m from the
headquarters.
Pakjam Waterfall
situated in Pakjam Sub-disyrict, Huay Yod District, Trang Province, has water all the year round, and is the source of water of Trang
Province.
Nam Plew Waterfall
it situated in Moo 5, Tambol Langkhoy, Pattalung. Its source is from Bantad mountain range, the water flows down in different level. The landscape is rich with
moist-evergreen forest.
Thara Warin Waterfall
situated in Village No. 1, Namtok Sub-district, Thungsong District, Nakhon Si Thamarat Province, is a big waterfall which its water beautifully cascading down
below.
Khounpra Waterfall
situated in Village No. 5, Namphud Sub-district, Muang District, Trang Province, comes from Bantud Mountain Range, cascading down to be a big stream which is the source of Lamphura
River.
Nan Sawan Waterfall
situated in Village No. 5, Wang-ang Sub-district, Cha-uad District, Nakhon Si Thamarat Province, comes from a water-source in Dannakhon Mountain Range, which its water drops onto many big and small ponds and goes to Huay Nam Sai
Reservoir.
Nan Pliew Waterfall
siuated in Village No. 5, Lan Koi Sub-district, Pha Payom District, Phattalung Province, comes from Banthud Mountain Range, is a very high waterfall cascading down below. The area is a productive rain
forest.
Nature Trail
located near the national parks office, is divided into three trails; each has its differently unique point, and different long; and all are suitable for researching, exploring and studying plants and
animals.

By Car
From Patta-Lung town, take a bus along Asia state highway (Kuan Kanun- Khao Pu) about 14 km long, then at Huay Nao Nai Wang village, you would see a sign 4 km to Khao Pu - Khao Ya National Park Headquarter .
