General Information
Wang Sam Mor Forest Park is located in Nong Kung Tap Ma District, Sam Mor Ampur, Udon Thani Province. Wang Sam Mor is a forest park of 18,750 rais in Pa Ma Yao-Pa Hua Na Kum-Pa Nong Kung Tap Ma-Pa Nayoong and Pa Nong Ya Sai Forest Reserve. The Forest Park was gazetted on 19 January 1984.
Topography
The area is generally flat and has Lum Pan Chart river, a large all-year-round running river, as a key feature. The islets and rocks scattered in the river are home for many fish species. In some areas, steep cliffs parallel with Lum Pan Chart
river.
Climate
Wang Sam Mor Forest Park has three distinct seasons. Rainy season starts from June to October, Winter is from November to February and Summer is from March to
May.
Flora and Fauna
The main vegetation here is dry dipterocarp forest with some mixed deciduous forest. Most tree species are small and medium size. Flora found here include Shorea obtuse, Shorea siamensis, Dipterocarpus obtusifolius, Dipterocarpus tuberculatus, Syzygium glaucum, Pterocarpus macrocarpus, Afzelia xylocarpa, Dalbergia oliveri, Vitex pinnata, Dillenia Spp., Terminalia alata, Lagerstroemia cuspidate, Morinda coreia, Anisoptera costata, Dipterocarpus Spp. and Hopea Spp. Undergrowth species include Dendrobium pensile, Alpinia malaccensis, Cycas spp., Chromolaena odoratum, Gigantochloa albociliata, Bamboo species and Wild flower. Wildlife left today is only small size animals such as Civet, Palm-civet, Squirrel, Ground-squirrel, Flying Lemur, Wild Pig, Monitors and many bird
species.
Wang Yai
This is large water hole and there is Lum Pan Chart river flowing across about 40 metre in width and 300 km in length. There are rock formation, rock bed, shady atmosphere and beautiful
scenery.
Yin Hom islet
Yin Hom islet is about 100 metre from Mon Noi islet. It is a big islet and was set the size accordingly in a circle. This resulted in waterfall especially in rainy season the sound of waterfall can be heard
afar.
Mon Noi Islet
This islet is only about 800 metres away from Wang Yai. From there you will find many different style of rocky islets which were result of water erosion of
water.

How to go?
By Car
Take unsealed road at turn off from Kumpawapee Ampur-Sri Chart Ampur, Wang Wiset Ampur, Udon Thani Province. Between Wang Sam Mor Ampur to Nikom Num Ooon-Waritchapoom Ampur, Sakon Nakorn Province and between Nong Koong Tab Ma there is turn off on the right side to Wang Sam Mor Forest Park for 9 kms.
