General Information
Ton Sak Yai (Giant Teak Tree) Forest Park is located in Ban Pang Kleua, Moo 4, Num Srai District, Num Pard Ampur, Utradit Province. Ton Sak Yai is a forest park of 22,000 rais in Pa Klong Tron Phang Sai Forest Reserve. It was gazetted by Royal Forest Department on 1 October 1969.
Topography
The area is mountainous but not so steep that covered by Mixed Deciduous forest and Dry Dipterocarp forest on the
hills.
Flora and Fauna
Main vegetation types here are Mixed Deciduous forest and Dry Dipterocarp forest. Around the Giant Teak tree there is a number of teaks differing in age from big to medium size to seedling. Other tree species commonly found here include Shorea obtusa, Shorea siamensis, Meliosma pinnata, Syzygium glaucum, Pterocarpus macrocarpus and Lagerstroemia
cuspidate.
Tourist Attractions
Natural forests in the area is still in good condition consisting of Dry Dipterocarp forest and Mixed Deciduous forest. Shorea obtusa, Shorea siamensis, Dipterocarpus obtusifolius and Dipterocarpus tuberculatus are main component in Dry Dipterocarp forest. Pterocarpus macrocarpus, Syzygium glaucum, Afzelia xylocarpa and Meliosma pinnata are found in Mixed Deciduous forest. Those natural forests occur on the hilly slope resulting in beautiful
scenery.
Giant Teak Tree (Ton Sak Yai)
The Giant Teak Tree is the worlds largest teak living today. At 1.30 metre above ground, the tree has perimeter of 9.85 metres (measured on 13 October 1982) and height of 47 metres. It has estimated longevity at least 1,500 years old. Surrounding the Giant Teak tree, there are medium sized teaks, teak seedlings in the teak-dominated Mixed Deciduous forest

How to go?
By Car
1. From the hi-way Pitsanulok-Utradit, turn off around km 104-110, then follow the hi-way no. 1047 (unsealed road) for 53 kms to reach the Ton Sak Yai forest
park.
2. From the hi-way Utradit-Sirikit Dam-Num Pad, turn off at km 64-65, then follow the hi-way no. 1047 (unsealed) for 9 kms before you arrive at the forest park.
