General Information Pah Son Nong Ku Forest Park located in Tab Tan Sub-district, Sangkha District, Surin Province. Its National Reserved Forest, covered the area of approximately 6,250 rais. The Royal Forest Department declared this forest park on October 29, 1981.
Topography Pah Son Nong Ku is forest located on the plain. During the rainy season, water hold in some areas. Its surrounded by paddy fields. There is a clue showing that this area used to be very abundant forest in the past.
Flora and Fauna There are Pinus mergusii grown all over the area, mixed with the Dry Deciduous Dipterocarp Forest. Most of trees species found are Dipterocarpus obtusifolius, Dipterocarpus tuberculatus, Shorea roxburghii, Irvingia malayana and Anisoptera costata. Presently, there is only small animal available such as squirrel, Malayan flying lemur, wild rabbit, snake, dove, coucal and myna. Hornbill has been found sometimes. Nowaday, the Royal Forest Department has been establishing the Pine Study Centre.
Tourist Attractions This is the only forest in southeastern part of Thailand where Pinus Mergusii is existed. Presently, local people come to the place for the use of recreation and environmental
education.

How to go? By Car From Surin province, you can take the Highway no. 2077 to Sangkha District, at the milestone no. 36-37. Or you can take Choke Chai-Det Udom Highway to Sangkha District, Surin Province and drive pass Sangkha to Surin where is about 7 kms far. The Highway is cut through the Pah Son Nong Ku Forest Park. The Forest Park Head Quarter is only 400 metres away from the main road. Transportation
