General Information
Khoon Korn Waterfalls Botanical Garden is located in the area of Tambon Mae Korn and Tambon Huay Chompoo, Muang District, Chiang Rai Province which falls within the left side of Pa Mae Lao and right side of Pa Mae Kok National Forest Reserves. The total area is approximately 1,000 rais and was announced, by the Royal Forest Department, as a botanical garden on 21st January, 1982.
Topography
The area of Khoon Korn Waterfalls Botanical Garden is mainly a valley skirting by high and steep mountains and is also the originating point for Mae Korn River, consisting of many creeks such as Mae Korn Creek, Mae Morn Creek, Yah Dee Creek and Lao Aye Creek, which then combines with Lao
River.
Flora and Fauna
Consists of mixed forest, dry primary forest and Siamese sal and ingyin forest, which are still in good condition. Common vegetation found are Ironwood, red cedar, chinkapin, champaka, gamari, Indian rose chestnut, jute and Siamese sal. Grounds covering plants common in the area are bamboos, bananas, and
ferns.
Common wildlife are deer, wild pig, red junglefowl, and civet.
Tourist Attractions
Khoon Korn Waterfalls Botanical Garden is known for the most spectacular waterfalls, more than 70 meters high, in Chiang Rai Province. The water runs crystal clear all year round without any limestone
settlings.

How to go?
By Car
Either local bus : Chiang Rai Baan Paang Rim Korn Route or own car can be taken via Highway No.1 to Baan Rong Khoon (approximately 13 kilometers) then turn right into Highway No.1208 to Baan Suan Dok (approximately 5 kilometers) then turn left into Highway No. 1211, drive on approximately 3 kilometers until Baan Mai Junction is reached, then turn right into Highway No. 1208 to Khoon Korn Waterfalls Botanical Garden (approximately 12 kilometers). Total approximate distance from Chiang Rai Province to Khoon Korn Waterfalls Botanical Garden is 33 kilometers.
