General Information
Phu Fag Forest Park located in Nam Kham Village, Phu Lan Chang Sub-district, Na Koo District, Kalasin Province, situated in Dong Huay Fha National Reserved Forest, covered the area of 4,062.50 rais. The Royal Forest Department declared this forest park on January 27, 1997.
Topography
In general, its high mountains with 200-475 metres elevation above the sea level, consisting of big mineral reservoir which can supply water for local peoples consumption and agriculture within villages and nearby throughout the
year.
Flora and Fauna
Its the watershed area. Flora found include Afzelia xylocarpa, Irvinggia malayana, Dipterocarpus turbinatus, Shorea siamemsis and Dipterocarpus
macrocarpus.
Fauna found include wild pigs, barking deers, jungle fowls, Indo-chinese ground squirrel, pangolins, Malayan flying lemur, palm civet and wolf
There has been 16 dinosaur footprints found. A number of 7 footprints placed on stone ground where indicated in Cletacious Stone Age can be clearly seen. These footprints belong to giant carnivore dinosaurs aged about 140 millions
years.
Ancient animal fossils
A huge number of fossils has been found on the stone ground, scattered around the area and nearby. Its like 3 paralleled long lines. All fossils have been ended at stone hollow. There is no final identification of which animal species they could
be.
Lord Buddha Footprint
Situated on Phu Pha Fag Mountain Summit; sized about 210 width, 400 cms length and 60 cms depth. One footprint
found.
Chao Mae Ya Bao House Spirit
Or sometimes named Chao Mae Nang Bao or Nang Norn Ploey (naked sleeping woman) is a sleeping woman-like-stone, aged older than 10,000 years, respected and worshiped by the local
people.
The Edge of the Earth
Located on the summit of Phu Fag Mountain, 475 metres high above the average sea level. Its a cliff that when you are standing there, you will feel like youre standing at the edge of the earth. Panoramic scenery can be viewed in all
direction.
Hot Spring
Located down the Phu Fag Mountain. Mineral water flows throughout the year and can be used for consumption and as food supply source for local people and
animals.

How to go?
By Car
From Kalasin town, you can take Kalasin-Sakon Nakorn road, approximately 42 kms long, to Somdet District interjunction, then turn right and drive further for about 20 kms to the fork of Huay Phung District. After that, please turn left and drive forward to Nakoo District for about 10 kms long. Then you will reach the junction (concrete road) which will lead you to the forest park. From this junction, turn left and drive for 4 kms you will reach the forest park. In conclusion, the distance from Kalasin town to Phu Fag Forest Park is about 76 kms.
