General Information
Chi Long Forest Park located in Ban Wang Wa, Moo 6, Tah Khon Yang Sub-district, Kantara Vichai District, Maha Sarakham Province, covered the area of 119 rais approximately. The Royal Forest Department declared the forest park on April 24, 1982.
Topography
Its geographical character is plain, surrounded by Lam Chii Long River Plain on its north, east and south throughout the year. Even though on its Westside indicated the Chii River, as a matter of fact its natural dam where water can be well stored. This unique character of the area creates a mostly island-liked
landscape.
Flora and Fauna
Various flora species found. Most of tree found i.e. Dipterocarpus sp., bastard teak (local people calls Chan), black plum, CHAMUAN, Diospyros areolata, sesban, Mitragyna hirsuta, mango, rain tree, Ficus sp., KAYAO, Careya sphaerica, wild cotton tree, and Lagerstroemia cochinchinensis respectively. In addition, lower trees found are bamboo, Siamese rough brush, various bush trees and torn
trees.
Tourist Attractions
Natural influence causes water flow pattern changed and creates a mouth of a bay-like. At the western part of the area, tide blows sand and sandy stones to be large embankment to keep natural water and eventually become reservoir. Its rich of water throughout the year encourages various plant species packed-grown and green. Its a comfortable house of many bird
species.

How to go?
By Car
from Maha Sarakham Province, you can take the asphalt Maha Sarakham-Kalasin Highway to milestone no. 6, Tah Khon Yang Village, Kantara Vichai. Then take the rouge road on your left hand side to Wang Wah Village. This road lined along the Chi River before reaching Wah Village. On your right corner is public road lined along the Chi River and ended at reservoirs. Its only about 11 kms long from Maha Sarakham Province to Chi Long Forest Park.
