Phra Phothisat Cave ถ้ำพระโพธิสัตว์ Located 32 kilometres from Saraburi City on the Friendship Highway at Wat Tham Phra Phothisat, Mu 10 Tambon Thapkwang in Amphoe Kaengkhoi. To access this cave, go along the Highway for 15 kilometres, on the right you will see the entrance to Wat Tham Phra Phothisat turn right onto an asphalt road and continue or 2 kilometres and turn left onto a laterite road and go along the road for 9 kilometres. Phra Phothisat Cave, formerly called Tham Khao Namphu or Tham Phra Ngam is in Namphu Hill. On the cave wall, there are carved figures of Phra Phothisat, an image in the Dvaravati art style; and a stupa. Besides the carved figures, there are glittering stalagmites and stalactites. Outside the cave it is full of a wide variety of plants which offer tranquility, shade and beauty. In the vicinity there are many other interesting caves e.g. Thammathat Cave, Lumphinin Rock Garden Cave and Sa- ngat Stupa Cave |
