General Information
Mae Sawan Noi Waterfall located in Moo 3, Mae Hoh Sub-district, Mae Sarieng District, Mae Hong Sorn Province, situated in the southeastern part of Mae Yuam National Reserved Forest, covered the are of 2,812 rais. The Royal Forest Department declared this forest park on March 23, 1997.
Topography
The southeastern Mae Yuams geography is complex high mountain range. The range laid south-northward. Its a Mae Sarieng Rivers watershead area. The water flows from Mae Sawan Waterfall to Mae Sawan Luang Stream and then to Sarieng River. Water in all streams in this area is clear water that is flowing throughout the
year.
Flora and Fauna
The Dry Evergreen Forest is found around the high humid stream channel where is situated in the fairly high land and in stream bank around the plain where sediments gathered. The forest is transformed from Moist Evergreen Forest. Soil has humidity and the area is overgrown with forest. Flora found consist of bush plants, annual tree, vine, rattan and orchid hung around. Besides, there are deciduous tree species mixed with non-deciduous ones. High tree species found consist of Dipterocarpus sp., Hopea odorata, etc. second high tree species and average bush plants found are KHACHAO, Aglaia pirifera, Eugenia sp., SOMPONG,
etc.
The Mixed Dipterocarp Deciduous Forest is grown less deciduous forest. Its found around the foothill upwards and consisted of various tree species mixed grown. Flora found are teak, ironwood, laurel, Millettia brandisiana, coral tree, etc. Bush plants found are Bambusa Arundinacea, Dendrocalamus strictus and so on. Furthermore, its also found various valuable and rare herbal plant species such as Piper aurantiacum and Entada
pursaeta.
Mae Sawan Noi Waterfall
Mae Sawan Noi Waterfall is recommended to view from the top downward because there is the route access to the top of the waterfall. The pond is 500 metres far from the top of the waterfall. The water here flows throughout the year even in the dry season. Waterfall can be divided into floors. Some floors are small and some are large. Each floor has its unique beauty. The large and beautiful one consists of 5 floors. Some floor has been consisting of 2 streams flow separately. Steams flow long from top floors to down
ones.

How to go?
By Car
You can drive to Mae Sarieng district and take the Highway no. 108 (Mae Sarieng-Hot) for about 18 kms, then turn left to Mae Sawan Noi Village, drive further for 3.5 kms approximately to the waterfall. Hence, its totally about 21.5 kms from Mae Sarieng District to Mae Sawan Noi
Waterfall.
From Hot District, Chiang Mai Province, you can take the Highway no. 108 and from the milestone no. 85 turn right to Mae Sawan Noi Village. Its totally about 88.5 kms from Hot District, Chiang Mai province to the waterfall.
